The Founders
At Banso, our story is one of passion, friendship, and a deep-rooted love for the vibrant tastes of Cameroonian cuisine. It all began with our founder, Mark Losha, who was born and raised amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the mountainous farmlands of Cameroon. Growing up, Mark was immersed in a culinary heritage where spicy food was not just a preference but a way of life.
During his time in Cameroon, Mark crossed paths with an adventurous soul named Patrick McCarville. Patrick, a Peace Corps volunteer in the enchanting Nso land, quickly formed a profound bond with Mark, drawn together by their shared appreciation for flavorful dishes and the warmth of Cameroonian hospitality. Living amongst the locals, Patrick experienced firsthand the joy of savoring delicious meals crafted with love and care.
As destiny would have it, Mark and Patrick’s paths converged once again in the vibrant city of Baltimore, Maryland. The flame of their friendship reignited, and they found themselves continually gathering to relish the taste of home through Cameroonian-inspired culinary creations. Their shared experiences of hosting countless barbecues and traditional Nso cookouts, generously extending the Nso hospitality to friends and family, soon sparked an ambitious idea.
Driven by their unwavering passion for food and their desire to introduce the world to the extraordinary flavors of Banso, Mark and Patrick embarked on a remarkable journey. Together, they channeled their culinary prowess into crafting exquisite plantain chips, infusing them with the rich heritage and cultural essence of Banso.
Mark and Patrick, true food enthusiasts, understand the power of flavors to transcend boundaries and bring people together. They meticulously blend hand-selected ingredients to create plantain chips that capture the essence of Banso’s unique culinary tapestry. With every bottle, they invite you to embark on a culinary adventure, where bold flavors and the spirit of Cameroonian hospitality embrace your palate.
